Letter to Alexia: A witness to abuse commited to change

Yesterday, we received the following email from photographer Hannah Kozak.

“The work you are doing at Alexia Foundation is important and so critical where our planet is as we come into The Age of Aquarius. I am looking for a place where I can put my heart and soul into photography to create change. As a child who witnessed her mother being abused, I believe I have no choice but to help others around our world. Your commitment to support photojournalists is inspiring and I wanted to take the time to thank the Tsairis family.”

We wrote to Hannah asking if it would be okay if we posted her email. She agreed, and added,

“My mother’s life was permanently altered due to domestic violence. I am committed to this issue and will be part of eradicating violence through education and showing truth.”

Thank you, Hannah, for your letter. It shows on a personal level why work of this nature is important. Thank you for sharing your story and encouraging the work we do here.
