The Head On Awards are currently accepting entries in their annual contest. They are seeking submissions in four categories: Portrait, Landscape, Mobile and Student. More than AUD$50,000 will be awarded in cash and prizes. Winning entries will be displayed at the Head On Photo Festival, Australia’s leading photography festival, April 29-May 22, 2016 in Sydney, Australia.

The Portrait, Landscape and Mobile categories are open internationally to professional and emerging photographers, photojournalists and artists. Only Australian students are eligible to enter the Student category. Submitted works do not have to have been taken in the past 12 months. The copyright remains the property of the photographer.
First, second and third place winners will be named per category. First prize winners in the Portrait, Landscape and Mobile categories will each receive AUD $5000 cash as well as camera prizes from Fujifilm. All winners will receive Adobe Creative Cloud, an annual subscription to PDN Magazine and Better Photography, an annual membership to the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, and $250 in Moo Credit. All finalists will receive $50 in Moo Credit.
The awards are put on by the Head On Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the work of photographers at all stages of career, encouraging excellence and innovation, making photography accessible to all and raising awareness of important issues through photography.
The competition deadline is Feb. 28, 2016. The entry fee is AUD $25 per image for members, AUD $30 per image for non-members. Applicants may submit up to five images. You can learn more and apply at headon.com.au/awards/.
