For the third year, Jim Dooley, Alexia Foundation Executive Administrator, is bringing The Alexia Foundation to the Head On Photo Festival in Sydney, Australia. Dooley will be exhibiting The Price of Vanity by last year’s Professional Winner, Paolo Marchetti.
The Price of Vanity examines the cruelty behind the high fashion animal skin trade. It is an unprecedented document that represents the beginning of an investigation on a terrifying phenomenon – the extermination of animal species destined for a “beautiful” end.
The work will be on exhibit at the Sydney Lower Town Hall from April 30-May 8. The official opening is Friday, April 29 from 6-9 p.m. View more details here.
Head On Photo Festival is Australia’s most prestigious showcase for photography sourced from across the globe. It is put on by the Head On Foundation (est. 2008), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the work of photographers at all stages of career, encouraging excellence and innovation, making photography accessible to all and raising awareness of important issues through photography.
The festival is a chance to expose numerous people to Marchetti’s powerful work and an opportunity to educate a broad audience about the achievements and goals of The Alexia Foundation.
