We are so proud of all of the photography we have been able to support and share this year, thanks to your generous support.

In April, we selected the 2016 Alexia Grant winners. We funded projects tackling such important issues as environmental degradation in Brazil and its impact on indigenous populations, the war in Kashmir and the changing role between technology and the representation of conflict, the pursuit of the American dream by migrants, the experience of dementia and issues of boyhood, adolescence and belonging.

The Alexia Foundation was a featured exhibition and singled out for praise on the Mainstage at the LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph, one of the world’s premiere celebrations of the medium. With our exhibit, Alexia at 25, we were able to expose hundreds to the issues of military sexual assault, homelessness among women veterans and the damming of the Amazon basin. The exhibition was commended as a highlight among the 2016 festival offerings while photographic leaders at the festival discussed Alexia’s profound impact on the industry.

You are the reason we have been able to have this tremendous impact on photojournalism and why we can support stories that drive change. Your donations have allowed us to make the most important documentary photography projects in the world a reality for now more than 25 years.

Will you join us in helping tell the world about the most pressing issues of our time to make 2016 our most impactful year?

You can make it happen. Donate to The Alexia Foundation today.
