The Long Night, an urgent, heart-breaking investigation into the young lives changed forever by under-age prostitution and exploitation, is now available to buy or rent on Itunes. Produced by filmmaker and photographer Tim Matsui and film production and interactive design studio MediaStorm, the film was made possible by The Alexia 2012 Women’s Initiative Grant.
The Long Night has received some of the highest awards in the industry, including a First Prize in the World Press Photo competition and a POYi Documentary Project of the Year. Now, it will be available to an even larger international audience. In addition to Itunes, the film is available to rent or buy on Amazon, Vimeo and YouTube. The film is being distributed by Journeyman Pictures, one of the leading independent suppliers of award winning stories to the world broadcast market.
“When Journeyman Pictures approached me with an offer to represent the film in foreign markets—and on Video on Demand (VOD) platforms like iTunes and Amazon—I was excited.” said Tim Matsui. “I knew we could reach a broader audience. This is about taking the film to the audience—to the platforms they use. This matters to me because I’ve seen how it’s being used to affect positive change.”
“I look forward to what Journeyman Pictures can achieve in reaching new audiences,” added Matsui.
So do we, Tim. Thank you for everyone who worked so hard to make this powerful film accessible to a broader audience. Your tireless devotion helps to fight the scourge of commercial sexual exploitation every day.
