The China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP) has launched its 12th annual competition and is currently accepting entires. The deadline for the competition is Feb. 15, 2016.

The theme is Peace and Development. The works submitted are encouraged to keep the theme of promoting world peace and driving progress in politics and the economy.
The entries may reflect social conflicts, problems or achievements in the fields of global politics, economy, science, technology, ecosystem and environment; or demonstrate the human efforts in pursuing peace and development by visual presentation; or relay the information reflecting human emotion, willpower, strength and fate.
Photographs are accepted in eight categories: Daily Life, War and Conflict News, Disaster and Disease News, General News, Economic News, Science, Technology and Culture News, Nature and Environmental News, and Sports News.
The winner of Photo of the Year will be awarded a cash prize of RMB 100,000 ($16,000) and a round-trip ticket to China. The gold winner in each category will receive a prize of RMB 10,000 and a round-trip air ticket to China. Trophys and certificates are presented to the silver and bronze-prize winners.
